1420MHz is a protected frequency astronomers use to study hydrogen.
We think aliens would use it to contact us because that's the frequency most astronomers listen to.
But then alien astronomers can't use it to study hydrogen due to signal pollution cause by them contacting us.

@lordvictor Yeah. Last December I was lucky to have dinner with some people working on the ngVLA, which will be a massive radio interferometer. It'll be a telescope with an effective ~5k miles aperture. At 1420 MHz, it'll have around the same resolution that JWST would have in UVC.

@Gutterbug77: Visual artists are this way as well. Graphic artists, when designing a new logo, don't make a perfect logo at once. They'll make a hundred reference sketches, building off things that worked well in these sketches as well as in their past designs to reach their final result.

Ran into the biggest sphinx moth I've ever seen, with a body over 3 and a half inches long. He was newly hatched and trapped in the bottom of a plastic pot, unable to crawl out. And since there was a thunderstorm moving in fast, took it inside to help its wings stretch.
